The Russians are……here?

Yes that’s right. The Russian Navy had its Pacific Fleet here in Guam this week.
They were giving tours of one of the ships and I just could not resist! They were
very hospitable and extremely nice guys. We got a short tour of the exterior
of the ship and then got to talk a bit with the navigator of their helo (pictured
below).

I have to say their English was extremely good. It’s always surprising to find
the number of people who speak our language better than we speak theirs. I got
to use only a little bit of my awful Russian skills: "Hello", "Excuse
me", "Thanks", and "Goodbye".
